I am a DONA-trained doula working in New York City and I want to help you have the best birth experience possible. I come from a long line of women supporting other women: my great-grandmother Batya was a midwife in Czechoslovakia before WWII, my grandmother Helen was a mikvah (Jewish ritual bath) attendant and my mother Tzila is a hairstylist. I live with my philosopher husband and 3 silly-lovely-crazy kids in Marine Park, Brooklyn and work a 9-5 office job in Manhattan. Despite my busy life, I found myself searching for personal satisfaction beyond the day-to-day routine and felt an overwhelming urge to DO something amazing. The more I thought about it, the louder the idea shouted at me – be a doula, support and advocate for birthing moms using my knowledge, instinct, strength and compassion to be a positive factor in the exhilaration of their experience.
